You Are The Light

So you don't think that your life is all that exemplary? People aren't flocking to you to find out what you're doing, why you're so different? Your congregation isn't exactly the talk of the town either?

The light is not perfection, or extraordinary "holiness." The world would notice that, and despise you for it. It is rather your humble repentance, and your genuine, joy-filled faith in Jesus. It is your peaceful confidence in God's love, and the tender gentleness and care for others that His love inspires in you.

You are the light of the world. You shine, to some degree, on those around you. You cannot be hidden. Draw near to God and let Him fill you with the light of His love! Then just be yourself, and you will shine God's love to others!

Prayer For The Day

Heavenly Father, I want to be a light in the world, but sometimes self-righteousness gets in the way. At other times, the realization of my sin overwhelms me. Most of the time, I don't think the world even notices me at all! Lord, help me find peace and confidence in Your forgiveness and love. So fill me with Your peace, that others may see the aura of Your light in me, and all around me, Amen.
