Jesus summarizes the whole law as love for God, and love for neighbor.  So the Apostle Paul concludes, "Love is the fulfillment of the law."

But when we read the commandments, we don't always want to love.  The law shows what's wrong with us, our sin.  Sin is the opposite of love.

When we experience God's love and forgiveness in Jesus, we begin to have a different opinion of love.  We come to see that love is good.

This changes our opinion of the Law as well.  We can begin to see the Law as not only condemning and restricting, but a delight since it shows the way of love.

Prayer For The Day

O God, what peace and comfort to know that You are love.  This is my only hope and consolation.  Lord, help me to remember how blessed love truly is, that I may always delight in the high privilege of following Your path, the way of love.  Amen.
