Redeemed From The Curse

"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: 'Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.'"
Galatians 3:13

Devotional Thought For The Day

What a dreadful thought, to be under a curse, justly condemned to hell. What a dreadful thought, to be crucified, nailed to a cross.

You and I deserve this, for the law imposes a curse upon all men, for "all have sinned," and "the soul that sinneth, it shall die." The wages of sin, what we justly earn and deserve when we sin, is death, punishment, and banishment to hell.

However, we have been delivered from this dreadfulness. God Himself, the Eternal Son of God, our Savior Jesus Christ "became a curse for us." He became accursed, justly sentenced to death, eternal punishment, and banishment to hell! He took our place on the cross and in hell.

You, dear friend, have been redeemed! Instead of such dreadful accursedness laying upon you, you are now a child of God, an heir of eternal life, destined for an eternity in the joy and bliss of heaven! All this because of Jesus!

Prayer For The Day

Heavenly Father, thank You for so loving me, that You sent Your Son to redeem me. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for becoming a curse for Me, for taking away my sins with Your suffering and death. Thank You Lord God, for Your love which has made me Your child, and given me the gift of life eternal. Amen.
