Obedience

"I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold on me, but the world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what my Father has commanded me."
John 14:30,31

The prince of this world has no hold on Jesus. The world cries out, "Prove it! Break free of the cross and we will believe in you!" But Jesus shows the world something much different. He shows love for the Father - by obedience. "Obedience unto death, even death on the cross." By this He also reveals God's love for us!

Obedience. It is highly undervalued. Certainly by our children. Also by each of us. However, consider what is shown by obedience! Love! Love for the Father, if we obey Him. Love for the devil if we obey him!

Who do you love? Certainly it is God! So show it by doing "exactly what He has commanded you." Show everyone that the prince of this world has no hold on you! Obedience still counts!

Prayer For The Day

O Lord, you know how much I love You. But my sinful flesh rebels at the thought of obedience. In reality, my sinful flesh hates me and seeks to destroy me! But I know that You love me, for I know Jesus. He died for me! Help me grow in my willingness and my determination to show my love for You, by doing Your will! Keep the evil one from having any hold on me! Amen.
