never sins."

Thought For The Day

These words are a direct contradiction of our own words. Though in our hearts we know these words to be true, we cannot admit this to ourselves, to others, or to God.
Our words defend the "righteousness" of our actions and justify our lack of action. Our posture is: "In me you see at least one righteous man who never sins."
No one will be saved by "being good." That's why Christ came
to save us! We cannot save ourselves. What pleasant freedom
it is to break free from the inner compulsion to lie and distort and disguise
ourselves, and to simply rest ourselves in God's forgiveness! Only
in Christ are we truly righteous, washed clean of all sin!

Prayer
For The Day
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Lord Jesus, You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Help
me to greater honesty that I may break free of self-justification and posturing
in self-righteousness. Let me simply rejoice in Your forgiveness
and salvation. Help me sing the praise of Your grace, rather than
crowing about my righteousness. Amen.
