"Do your best to come to me quickly, for Demas, because he loved this world, has deserted me and has gone to Thessalonica."

Loyalty is a most precious thing. Love for the world, and the things of the world, often erode loyalty to God and cause us to desert Him and His people. We are often like Demas.

Loyalty to the Lord Jesus, our Savior, is our highest priority. He died for us, and remains 100% loyal to us. How shameful when we desert Him, because of our "love for the world."

You know how painful it is when others are disloyal to you and desert you. Look to Jesus' loyalty to you at the cross, and resolve to grow in loyalty to Him.

Prayer For The Day

O Lord, I will never fully grasp Your loyalty to me, at least not in this life. Thank You for Your forgiveness, mercy, patience, and love. I am weak-hearted, easily tempted by the things of the world! Make my heart strong in Your love, that I may love strongly too, and always be loyal to You! Amen.
