The law is the Word of God. Not a jot or tittle will pass away from it! However, the law is not the final Word of God. "Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ."

"By the law is the knowledge of sin." The law shows us our need for a Savior, not how we can save ourselves. Without the grace and truth of God in Jesus Christ, none could be saved.

Without the Gospel, the law forces either despair or delusion. Despair of God's love, or the delusion of self-righteousness. Let the law have its say to you, then turn to the Gospel, and you will rejoice in Jesus your Savior forever!

Prayer For The Day

Thank You, O Lord, for giving me Your law, that I might see myself as I really am, a sinner. But especially, O Lord, I thank You for the grace and truth You have given me in Jesus, and Your gift of eternal life! Amen.
