It Is Written

"The Lord will rebuild Zion, and appear in His glory. He will respond to the prayer of the destitute; and He will not despise their plea. Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the Lord."
Psalm 102:16-18

Devotional Thought For The Day

The people not yet created? That would be us! The Lord had us in mind when He instructed His Word to be written. He wanted us to know Him, and to praise Him for His great love!

What shall we praise Him for? He responds to our prayers and does not despise our pleas. He will rebuild His people, watching over them and caring for them. He will appear in His glory, and "all the kings of the earth will revere" His glory. Yes, Jesus came to die for us, He comes today in His Word and Sacrament, and He will come again with great glory!

So let us hasten to what is written for us, to God's Word, the Scripture, that we too may know His love in Jesus, and praise Him!

Prayer For The Day

O Lord, sometimes it amazes me that You would use human language, written words, to show me Jesus, to bring me to faith in You, to preserve me in faith, and to give me all spiritual blessings. Yet Your Word cannot fail or be found false, and in it I learn all about Your love and care for me! Thank You Lord, for Your love, and for Your written Word! Amen.
