We think, "I'll do good, then God will be good to me and I will live." Wrong! First God must be good to us, enabling us to believe His Word! Then we can live, in His forgiveness and mercy in Jesus!

Unless He opens our eyes, we see nothing wonderful in His Word. Only condemnation, and restriction! How can we obey, unless He opens our eyes, gives us faith in Jesus, and shows us the wonders of His love?

Prayer For The Day

O Lord, Your Word often seems cold and hard and closed to me. Yet it is filled with the most glorious revelation of Your goodness and love for me! Through it, I come to know Jesus, my Savior. Extend Your goodness to me, that I may believe Your love, and see all the wonderful wisdom of Your Word. Amen.
