God's Food

"Meanwhile the disciples urged Him, 'Rabbi, eat something.' But He said to them, 'I have food to eat that you know nothing about.' Then his disciples said to each other, 'Could someone have brought Him food?' 'My food,' said Jesus, 'is to do the will of Him Who sent Me and to finish His work.'"
John 4:31-34

Have you ever wondered how Elijah went 40 days without food? Or how Jesus survived 40 days in the wilderness without food? Doing the will of God is a food that never fails to deliver the necessary energy!

What is God's will for you? Do not forsake the fellowship of God's people! Hear His gracious Word of forgiveness and love in the Scripture readings and sermon. Receive Jesus' body and blood in the Sacrament for the forgiveness of sins. Grow in faith and love. Serve Him by serving one another!

We eat too much regular food! We'd be healthier if we ate more of the food Jesus ate! Do you know this food? How truly blessed you are if you know it, and eat it, by doing the will of God!

Prayer For The Day

O Lord, usually I am far more interested in what's for dinner, than I am in Your Word and Sacrament. Forgive me for my neglect of Your will, my negligence in spiritual growth. Help me to partake of Your food. Prepare me for worship and fellowship tomorrow, that I may have abundant life and nourishment. Amen.
