Flee Mediums And Spiritists

"Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God."
Leviticus 19:31

Here is the problem: We want to know what's going to happen, and what's really going on around us, but the Lord's not giving us the answers to the questions we have. So we may be tempted to turn to those who promise to give us the answers we are looking for, to mediums and spiritists.

Most of these people are simply bogus. Some however may exercise supernatural powers as servants of the devil and the evil spirits.

What's wrong with them? "You will be defiled by them." Turning to them is turning away from the Lord. Turning to them is refusing to live in simple faith and trust in the Words and promises of God! Turning to them defiles us in unbelief and rebellion against God.

"He who spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not also along with Him freely give us all things?" [Rom. 8:32] God is love! God rules! Isn't that enough?

Prayer For The Day

O Lord, often my sinful flesh leads me into superstition. Often I desire information and answers that you have not given me, and often I struggle to live by faith. Help me to turn to You, and simply trust You, for You truly are my God and Savior! Amen.
