Evil resists good. Not just in the world, but also in your own heart. It oppresses the good in others, and suppresses the good in you. Look at evil - seeking to stone Jesus for doing good! Have you ever done the same? It should not surprise us then, when we encounter many troubles for trying to do good. God forgives us when we allow our sin to impede the progress of good. Let us forgive others, when they repay us evil for good. And don't give up on good! Where would we be if Jesus had simply given up? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
O Lord, cleanse me from the evil of my heart that opposes good. Forgive me and renew me! Strengthen me in resolve to turn away from evil, and to embrace an agenda of good. Turn my eyes to Jesus, that I may persevere in good, to the very end! Amen. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
