Christ's Word Dwelling In You

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God."
Colossians 3:16

These words are not addressed specifically to pastors. You are privileged to "teach and admonish one another with all wisdom." First we must love enough to do so. Second, we must gain the wisdom to do so. How will this come to be?

"Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly!" The Word of Christ fills us with the wonder of God's love for us! God's love for us fills us with love for Him, and love for one another! The Word of Christ is the wisdom of God, and provides us with the wisdom to "teach and admonish" one another!

Tomorrow the Word of Christ comes to you in the liturgy, the Scripture readings, the Sermon, the Creed, the Hymns, the Sacrament. Tomorrow, you have opportunity to teach and admonish, in Sunday School, Bible Class, in conversation! Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly, and come forth from you to bless God's people!

Prayer For The Day

Lord, I feel insufficient to teach and admonish. I need first for You to teach me! Let Your Word, the Word of Christ, dwell in me richly, that I may know Your forgiveness and love! Provide me with the wisdom to teach and encourage others, that Your Word may dwell richly in them as well. Amen.
